EBP conducted the Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA) in support of Oklahoma DOT's successful 2024 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant application, BRIDGING THE GAP: MULTIMODAL CONNECTIONS OVER THE OKLAHOMA RIVER.
The Project, located in Oklahoma City. will construct a multi-modal bridge west of the existing southbound I-35 highway bridge. The new multimodal bridge will connect both sides of the recently built Oklahoma River Trail system. It will be approximately 20-feet wide and 820-feet long and will be exclusively for active transportation users.
Benefits captured in the BCA include bike and pedestrian commuter benefits, induced bike and pedestrian recreational trips, and an anticipated one-time hedonic increase in nearby housing values from proximity to an expanded and more connected regional trail network. The project and ODOT were awarded $17.4 million in federal RAISE funds.
