Our journey began with Ernst Basler's vision of sustainability and interdisciplinary team work, and today, these enduring principles remain a driving force behind our global engagement and expertise.
1971: Ernst Basler promotes sustainability and interdisciplinarity in the engineering profession
1981: Founding of Ernst Basler + Partner.
1993: Establishment of EBP Deutschland/Germany.
1994: Bruno Basler takes over from Ernst Basler.
1996: Founding of EDR Group (now EBP US).
2012: Inception of EBP Chile.
2014: Majority ownership of Geoklock in Brazil (100% by 2016).
2016: Acquisition of EDR Group in the US.
2019: Launch of EBP China.
2020: Geoklock and EDR Group rebranded as EBP Brazil and EBP US.
2024: Acquisition of STEP in India.
2024: Acquisition of Zero Dimensions Technology (ZRD) in Shanghai and merger with EBP China, continuation under the name of EBP China.
2024: Acquisition of Ramboll's operations in Brazil.

Ensure that the processing of personal data required in EBP Brasil processes is in compliance with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

LGPD
The General Law on the Protection of Personal Data (Law No. 13,709/2018 – LGPD), which regulates the processing of personal data, came into force in September 2020. As of this date, all companies must adapt and comply with all the requirements of the LGPD, under penalty of fines and other penalties provided for by law.
To comply with the requirements of the LGPD, EBP Brasil, among other measures, created the role of Data Protection Officer (the equivalent of the Data Protection Officer – DPO defined in European law), as well as the Information Security and LGPD committee, which will assist the Officer in his/her duties.
The Data Protection Officer, a professional whose duties are set out in the LGPD, has the main role of acting as a communication channel between EBP Brasil, the holders of the personal data it processes and the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD – a public body responsible for overseeing, implementing and monitoring compliance with the law), in addition to actively participating in the dissemination of information and guidelines for compliance with the LGPD.
